Madre is an international women’s human rights organization that works in partnership with community-based women’s organizations to address economic and environmental justices, women’s health, gender-based violence, and advocate for peace building. Their goal is to help build women’s capacity to mobilize change within community organizations through funding, sharing knowledge and tools to build infrastructure, as well as legal advocacy.

Our Honest Opinion

We love that Madre partners directly with local community organizations, and helps build the skills and leadership within those organizations directly. They believe in a world where women have a say in all aspects of society and are working towards that goal collaboratively. One of our favorite aspects is their legal advocacy; where they ensure community-based women leaders have access to resources and training to take part in the policymaking spaces.
